instance administrator roles define the privileges that control what users can access and manage in blueprint settings assigning a role to a user determines both their administrative capabilities and their resulting license type navigate to settings > user management > instance administrator roles default roles one default role, "default instances administrator", comes pre configured when blueprint is installed this role grants full instance privileges to all projects and project data, and grants an "author" license type managing roles create a role go to settings > user management > instance administrator roles click add instance administrator role enter a name and description select the desired privileges — see instance administrator role privileges for reference click save edit a role go to settings > user management > instance administrator roles click the role name edit the name, description, or privileges as needed click save copy a role go to settings > user management > instance administrator roles click the role to copy, then click copy enter a new name and description, adjust privileges as needed click save delete one or more roles go to settings > user management > instance administrator roles to delete one click the role name, then click delete > ok to delete multiple select the checkboxes, click actions > delete > ok ⚠️ once deleted, users assigned to that role will lose access to settings assign them to another role before deleting assigning and unassigning users assign users to a role go to settings > user management > instance administrator roles click the role click the user assignments tab > assign users select the user(s) and click ok ⚠️ users can only hold one instance administrator role at a time assigning a user to a new role automatically removes them from their previous one unassign users from a role go to settings > user management > instance administrator roles click the role click the user assignments tab select the user(s), click actions > delete > ok ⚠️ unassigned users will lose access to settings assign them to another role first if continued access is needed
