project role assignments determine what a project group is permitted to do within a project by assigning one or more project roles to a group, all members of that group inherit the privileges those roles define you can also set a scope on each assignment to restrict a group's access to a specific folder or artifact rather than the entire project ⓘ to manage project role assignments, you must have either the manage groups, project roles, and project role assignments privilege in your project administrator role, or the administer all projects privilege in your instance administrator role set scope for a project role assignment scope limits the portion of the project a group can access under a given role — for example, a specific folder or artifact from settings , click projects and select the project click user management > project groups and click the group click the project role assignments tab click the edit icon next to the role you want to scope select the specific folder or artifact to define as the scope and click ok click save ⚠️ users without view permissions across the entire project will not be able to load the project in the explorer panel assign project roles from settings , click projects and select the project click user management > project groups and click the group click the project role assignments tab click assign project roles select the checkboxes for the roles you want to assign and click ok use the search bar to find specific roles, or click any column header to sort click save unassign project roles from settings , click projects and select the project click user management > project groups and click the group click the project role assignments tab select the checkboxes for the roles you want to remove click actions > unassign click save
