Participants can be either Reviewers or Approvers. By default, all participants have their approval status set to Reviewer.

If your Review has artifacts needing approval, at least one participant should be set as an Approver. Having Approvers in a Review makes it a Formal Review.

To set roles for a Review:

1. Access the Review artifact of interest and click the **Participants** tab.
2. Click the drop-down in the **Role** column for the participant you want to set a role for and select **Reviewer** or **Approver** as needed.

1. To set a role for multiple participants:
   1. Select the checkboxes for the participants you want to set a role for.
2. Click the **Actions **button and select **Reviewer **or **Approver **as needed.
