A Process is a base artifact type that you can use to model business processes and user-to-system interactions.

To create a Process artifact:

1. Select the folder, artifact, or project you want the new Process artifact to be added to.
2. Click the **New** icon (:inlineImage[]{src="https://files.helpdocs.io/4rdnduk17o/other/1566499751969/create-artifact-ico.png" alt caption width="16" height="19"}) in the main toolbar.
3. In the Create Artifact window displayed, select **Process **and name the Process artifact.
4. Click **Create**.
The new Process artifact is loaded into the main content area.
A newly created Process always begins with a single task, which represents a user action, and is the basic building block for a Process.

A Process has a start and an end. All the things in between - tasks, as well as other objects that are explained in this help content - together represent the workflow you are defining.

A task represents a user action.
